See Well at Every Distance with a Single Pair of Glasses

What are progressive lenses?

Progressive lenses are prescription lenses designed to see well far away, at intermediate distance and up close with a single pair of glasses, thanks to a smooth, continuous transition across the surface of the lens, with no dividing lines. They are mainly used to correct presbyopia, a natural process of the eye that, from the age of 40 or 45, makes it harder to focus on close objects.

At Visionmar Optical Center we are the only certified ZEISS Vision Expert center in the whole Marina Baixa area, and therefore the only one where ZEISS's most advanced progressive lenses can be fitted: ClearMind and ClearMind Individual 3.0.

ZEISS ClearMind Technology

Lenses Designed for Your Eyes and Your Brain

ZEISS ClearMind technology applies neuroscience to optical design. Seeing is a cognitive process: when a lens has distortions or blurred areas, the brain makes an unconscious effort to "correct" the image, and you feel it as eye strain and tiredness at the end of the day. Its patented technology, ZEISS NeurOptix, solves this as follows:

  1. 01

    Mapping how you really look

The areas of sharpest vision sit exactly where you naturally look when using your phone and computer, driving or reading.

  2. 02

    Less mental effort

Brain activity studies (EEG) show that they reduce the effort the brain makes to filter out peripheral blur.

  3. 03

    Wider fields of vision

Up to 41% more near-vision area and up to 27% more distance field than earlier generations, and one in two people adapt within just an hour.

A Technology for Every Stage

ClearMind is not just for tired eyes: ZEISS applies it to three types of lens.

  • Single vision

For young people aged 20 to 30 who want maximum sharpness across the whole lens, far or near.

  • Digital

For adults aged 30 to 45 with digital eye strain: a small boost in the lower part relaxes the eye when looking at your phone.

  • Progressive

For over-45s with presbyopia, with very smooth, natural transitions between all distances.
